Nitol has demonstrated the effectiveness of public-private partnership at the 9-th Moscow international salon of innovations and investments
Nitol Solar has demonstrated the effectiveness of public-private partnership in the sphere of high technologies on the 9-th International Salon of Innovations and Investments held in Moscow.
The participants of the Salon were the research centers and industrial enterprises, universities, science parks, university towns, the centers of the international scientific-technical and innovative cooperation. They demonstrated advanced developments of Russian science which are able to influence the most significant sectors of Russian economy.
Yuri Luzhkov commented on the work of the salon, noticing: “People who have come here care for science, care for innovations and willing that innovations to be changed into investments”. He emphasized that the Russian position on the world stage depends on the development level of the innovative industry: “We will never find our place in the world, if we don’t put up in our innovations”.
Events of the business part of the Salon were brought together under the common topic: “National priorities of Russian development: education, science, innovation”, which is connected with the implementation of one of the top priority objectives of the state policy in the sphere of innovations – usage efficiency increase of products of the scientific and technological activity and its focus on production of the competitive innovative product.
Nitol Solar project of polysilicon and monosilane production - the main raw materials for components, required by the solar energy sector is the unique example of effective public-private partnership in the sphere of innovations. The project is implemented in cooperation with Russian corporation of nanotechnologies and the Federal Agency for Science and Innovation.
The total project budget is 18,9 billion rubles. Amount of RUSNANO’s investment in the project reaches 7.5 billion rubles. First product - polycrystalline silicon - was released in 2008. The core operations are set to be running by the end of 2009. Nitol Solar's customers are major companies of PV industry, which signed long-term contracts up to 7 years.
RUSNANO booth, at which the Nitol’s project was represented, was visited by Education Minister Andrei Fursenko and Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. According to Andrei Fursenko estimates, "it is auspicious moment for the dynamic development of the innovative economy, and the Salon may be regarded as a starting point of this process." “We always hear about the crisis, that we should purse and save what we’ve got. But I believe that in crisis we should drop the hammer, but not to push the brake pedal. And it’s the right time to move forward” – emphasized the Head of the Ministry of Education and Science.
